About Me

Hello, my name is Rachael, and I like to create, design, code, paint, illustrate, teach, and photograph things. But mostly photograph :)

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine."

-Anthony J. D'Angelo

meI believe that everyone has a story; everyone lives a journey. My story is an open book, my journey is a barely a small trip in comparison to what I have yet to live and experience.

I know that I'm here to help other people tell their stories with a visual representation of who they are, who they've been, and who they will be. I shoot pictures because I have found that I can't imagine myself doing anything else. I have found that I have fallen in love with teaching by working with kids after school and discovering that I can connect with them through art. I am only sixteen, but I know what I want and what I need to do. I am so lucky to have found my passion.

Outside of flickrland, my real world is hectic and unpredictable. I'm a junior in the International Bacclaureate program at my high school, and to say that it keeps me busy would probably be the understatement of the year.

I love simplicity, earth, and quiet. I would be barefoot all the time if given the choice. Most mornings I find that I could use an IV drip of coffee as I'm not much of a morning person, but I love to watch the sun rise and set. I like to kayak, swim, and sit cross-legged in the art section of Barnes & Noble. I truly enjoy learning - especially english and art history - although I frequently end up drawing elaborate doodles in my precalculus class instead of absorbing anything important. ;)

I am continuously inspired by the work of René Magritte, Jackson Pollock, Annie Leibovitz, local sculpture artists, and my amazing digital design teacher without whom I would not be who or where I am.
